What's new
Every release, in plain language. Updates arrive automatically through your browser's extension store and the App Store.
Version 0.9 September 11, 2026
Chrome, Firefox, and the iPhone app (1.2)
- The whisk button is on by default on every browser for new installs, so the reader is one tap away without hunting for the toolbar icon.
- After you've used the reader a few times, it asks once whether you'd rate it. Say no and it never asks again.
Version 0.8 August 19, 2026
Chrome, Firefox, and the iPhone app (1.1)
- Tap an ingredient or a step to cross it off while you cook. It clears when you leave the page.
- Print from the reader and you get just the recipe: ingredients, steps, nutrition. No photos, no website.
- Nutrition facts now show after the steps, whenever the site publishes them.
- The reader fades in instead of popping open, and a slow-loading photo no longer shoves the text around.
- iPhone: swiping past the top or bottom of a recipe no longer scrolls the page underneath.
Version 0.7 July 23, 2026
Chrome and Firefox; the iPhone app (1.0) was approved August 7
- Readable Recipes is on the App Store: the same reader, in Safari on your iPhone.
- A floating whisk button on recipe pages opens the reader with one tap.
- Fixed recipes not loading on some sites (like contadina.com).
- Sites that cram several steps into one paragraph (like hellofresh.com) now get separate numbered steps.
Version 0.6 June 12, 2026
Chrome and Firefox
- Rebuilt from the ground up with a new recipe engine that reads the standard recipe data most sites publish, so it works on virtually any recipe site.
- Light and dark themes, following your device or set by you.
